Jules endless fight continues, says father

Jules Bianchi's father, Philippe, has spoken publicly of his son's fight to survive following last year's Suzuka accident.

Last week marked six months since Jules Bianchi's horrific accident at Suzuka. After months of silence, his father has finally spoken out, revealing the torment that he and his family continue to go through.

"The only thing we can say is that he's fiercely fighting as he always did, before and after the accident," Philippe Bianchi told French newspaper Nice-Matin. "From a medical point of view, his condition is stable."

"I think that in this type of accident shocks more than an actual death," he admitted. "The pain is endless... a daily torture. Every day, Jules is running a marathon. All of his organs are working without assistance. But, for now, he remains unconscious.

"For this kind of trauma, as we know, evolution is very slow," he continued. "Compared to what we were told by the Japanese professor who operated on him in Yokkaichi, this is already night and day. There, when we arrived, with Jules' mother, there was no hope. The prognosis was alarming. There was talk of irreversible damage.

"Neurologically, the doctors told us that there is no specific intervention to do. The most important thing is to stimulate Jules, that he feels a constant presence at his side. That's why we take turns every day, his mother, his sister, his brother and me. He also has, Gina, his German girlfriend, who lives here now.

"Jules is young," he added. "He is 25 years old. He is very strong physically as he survived such a shock. I'm very proud of Jules. I have always been. So we hope for a new development.

"He's moving forward. So we hope for a new evolution," he concluded. "The next one would be for him to get out of his coma."

"Words fail me with this accident. No one should have to go through this.

I just hope no one forgets Jules or what has happened to him. "
