Ferrari team boss Maurizio Arrivabene has confirmed that the company will supply engines to Manor.

Speaking to reporters at the Circuit de Catalunya, Arrivabene said that the Italian manufacturer, which is owed £16.57m by the former Marussia F1 Team and which yesterday entered a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) with its creditors, will supply power units to the south Yorkshire based outfit.

"We told them yesterday that we are going to supply them with the 2014 engine," said the Italian.

"There is nothing in writing at the moment," he admitted, "but our answer at the moment is yes."

Asked to confirm that the deal is for the 2014-spec unit, he replied: "Yes, the 2014 engine."

Whilst there has been no official announcement from Manor, it is understood the team is pushing ahead to have a 2015-spec car ready for Bahrain, at the latest, whilst there is talk of the team attending next week's final pre-season test with its 2014 car.

With talks continuing with the Commercial Rights Holder as to whether (and when) the team receives its 2014 prize money, which is being eyed by its rivals, the green light from Ferrari is seen as a positive step.
