With double diffusers banned, along with F-ducts, teams are looking at ever more ingenious ways of creating more downforce.

The latest wheeze centres on the exhaust system and some teams efforts are pretty radical, even if they don't always do the job intended.

While there is much interest in the system on the Lotus Renault GP R31 - which sees the air blown out of the leading edge of the sidepods, and is regarded by some as the much have system for 2011 - Gurmit gives you an exclusive look at the team's first effort.. the Mk 1. Poor old Vitaly Petrov was clearly far from impressed.
