While doubt about the future of his current team remains, Bruno Senna is confident that he will be on the grid next season.

Speaking to the media in his native Sao Paulo during the three-week summer break, the Brazilian said: "I hope the chance that I will continue is 100 percent. But unfortunately, it is impossible to say. Before the 2009 season, I seemed to have a good chance to race with Honda, but of course it ended up not happening."

Asked if he had an alternative plan, the youngster joked: "Selling coconuts on the beach!

"In F1, foresight doesn't work," he continued, in a more serious vein, "the only thing that does is a signed contract. There are always talks but nothing official. We will have to see. Few teams have guarantees that they will be on the grid. It is not an easy time in F1. But I do have to work to get assurances that I'll be in F1 next year, either with this team or with another... it will depend on many things."

While Bernie Ecclestone has suggested that at least two of the current teams could fall by the wayside, Senna was unwilling to comment on the situation at Hispania which in recent weeks has been linked with Toyota's former F1 department.

"It's not so simple, but they are making plans," he said. "The best thing would be if I could simply choose the team, because my goal is to stay for many years, not just now. As much as I do not have a competitive car, I'm here. It has been a great learning experience."
