Sepang Preview - Pakistan

A1 Team Pakistan heads to the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, for the fourth round of the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport. The Series is in its second season and the Malaysian race sees a return to the Sepang circuit for this exciting motor racing championship.

Following three successful events in Zandvoort, Holland; Brno, Czech Republic and Beijing, China, the Series holds its second Asian event at the permanent race circuit facility located close to the city centre.

The Sepang circuit, built in 1998, is 5.54 km long and one of the most technical circuits on the A1 GP calendar with a series of challenging sweeping corners, long, high-speed straight and tight twisting complexes combined with a width of track which allows plenty of overtaking.

Nur Ali will be driving for A1 Team Pakistan this weekend and with his racing experience on similar tracks in USA, hopes to continue to gain experience of the A1GP car and improve his performance as the weekend progresses.

He says of the venue, "I'm a big Formula One fan as well as a race car driver, so it's very exciting to be driving at a circuit that is also an F1 destination. I haven't seen the track for myself yet, so I can only comment from seeing it on TV and I reckon it'll be quite challenging, but also very enjoyable, with plenty of variety to test my racecraft skills."

A1 Team Pakistan Chairman, Arif Husain, adds, "I think Sepang is a big test for our team, as it is quite a demanding circuit which challenges drivers much more experienced than Nur. We'll be realistic in our goals for his weekend, but of utmost importance is that we are competing in this international motor racing series, working hard for the pride of our country and demonstrating to our fellow countrymen that we have the ambition and commitment to perform at the highest level on a global stage."
