The horrific accident involving Team Japan's car in Sunday's Feature race at Eastern Creek was testament to the strength of the Lola chassis. However, it also served to remind A1 GP organizers that many teams still don't have their second chassis available.

Ahead of the Estoril race weekend, an A1 source told Pitpass that the second cars would be ready for Australia… they weren't.

At present, 18 teams have their second car, but the remaining 7 don't. In the interests of parity, no teams will be allowed to make use of their second car until all 25 teams have been supplied.

Although the spare parts shortage is now improving, Pitpass has now been told that all the teams should have their second cars in time for Dubai, which follows the next round of the championship, due to be held at Sepang, Malaysia.
