Although some great racing failed to convince Portuguese race fans to cough up 20 Euros (£13.50) for Sunday's race at Estoril, organizers of the series remain buoyant as the series continues to produce exciting racing.

Our spies tell us that A1 organizers are already looking ahead to 2006/2007 and are virtually decided on where the first three races will take place.

We understand that two of the first three races will take place in countries which are not hosting races in this year's inaugural championship, and that the race package will include rounds from another highly popular race series.
