Following today's meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Cologne, it was announced that the F1 'drivers' union', the Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) is to have a permanent seat at Drivers' Commission meetings.
The Council approved the move as part of the FIA's ongoing commitment to ensuring the voices of drivers and co-drivers are heard on a range of important sporting and safety matters, as well as accident investigation.
Formed in 2013, the Drivers' Commission represents the rights and interests of drivers across the various disciplines of motor sport, under the presidency of Emerson Fittipaldi with Nigel Mansell initially one of three drivers representing single-seater drivers.
