A minor incident during yesterday's F1 street festival in Milan was due to Sebastian Vettel driving his teammate's car.
Though the incident, which saw the German clout the plastic barriers and dislodge the front wing in the tight confines of the 'pit lane' for the street demo, have been described by some as a "crash", it was the four-time world champion's ego that incurred the most damage.
Subsequently revealing that other than the narrowness of the track, it was the fact that it was his teammate's car he was driving, Vettel apologised for any damage incurred.
"I apologised," said the German. "I went with the car and the steering wheel of Kimi, who has his clutch on the other side.
"I didn't think about it, and at that point I was too fast," he added. "I asked if it would be possible to change the wing to do two more laps for the fans. Obviously it was my mistake, but that's OK."
Ferrari, was joined at the "F1 Unleash" event by Sauber and Toro Rosso, as they ran cars around the streets of Viale D'Annunzio.
The "F1 Unleash" event runs until 1 September as a warm-up for the Grand Prix at Monza and includes a Fan Village where a number of historic F1 cars can be seen at close quarters.
