Speaking to journalists in Barcelona having completed 48 laps of the Circuit de Catalunya and posted the best time (thus far) for a Williams driver, Robert Kubica admitted to the assembled media that in some ways he had been his own worst enemy as he targeted an F1 return, allowing journalists to focus too much on the negatives.
Asked about the revelation that the FW41 has not been adapted in any way to suit him, he replied: "If I keep changing things you will keep saying I have limitations...
"We should stop talking about this," he continued. "If I can jump in the car and do the job, I think that's fair enough.
"Of course I have my limitations but I never hide them," he admitted. "The problem is I was too honest with everybody and they kept asking questions, I think we should stop it. I have been always comfortable it was only media talks that I was not comfortable with.
"We have things to concentrate on," he insisted. "I'm living a good experience, I'm enjoying my role. I'm happy to give positive messages, not always the same story after many years."
