NEWS STORY
The Sauber F1 Team was able to run through the planned programme in both practice sessions ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos. During FP1 Marcus Ericsson tested the halo system for the first time, after Felipe Nasr had a first taste of the cockpit protection during the Mexican Grand Prix. Besides that, the usual race preparation with short and long runs on soft and medium tyres was on today's schedule.
Marcus Ericsson: "In FP1 it was interesting to test the halo system. For me it was positive, I did not have any issues with it in terms of visibility. The rest of FP1 was ok. In the afternoon session, it was unfortunate that I spun on my first lap in FP2, which flat spotted my medium tyres. We could not use them anymore for the rest of the session. On the soft tyres we have a bit of work to do in order to get them to work better. I am not fully satisfied with the balance of the car, so we need to improve that for tomorrow as well. But that's what Fridays are there for. We know what we need to do in order to be stronger for the rest of the weekend."
Felipe Nasr: "First of all, it is great to be back in Brazil and to be driving in front of my home crowd. In terms of the practice sessions, it was a positive Friday. We were able to work through our programme today. I feel that we can improve the balance of the car, although we already made improvements for the afternoon session. We were able to make the right adjustments on the car for the warmer conditions in FP2. Tomorrow we have to anticipate the weather change to get the best out of the car."
