McLaren dismisses speculation that Eric Boullier is heading to Ferrari.
As if 'who goes where' in terms of drivers wasn't enough, this year has seen speculation over the alleged comings and goings of various team personnel, not least James Allison, James Key and others.
The latest to find himself the centre of speculation is McLaren racing director Eric Boullier. In recent days the Frenchman has been linked with a move to Ferrari as the Italian team - not for the first time - looks to a Frenchman to come to its rescue.
Asked about the rumour, Fernando Alonso told the official F1 website: "There are so many things in circulation, and not only about this situation.
"On Saturday Eric will meet the media and then you can ask him yourself," added the Spaniard. "For sure I think that the team needs Eric, and I would like him to stay. But then again it might be a rumour only, and it would only be a waste of time to think about it too much."
Indeed, asked by Pitpass a McLaren spokesperson responded: "We can confirm that Eric is 100% committed to McLaren and is not in talks with Ferrari or any other team."
While McLaren has had two demanding seasons since re-partnering with Honda, the Woking team does at least appear to be making progress. The same cannot be said of Ferrari which has used up two world champions, numerous team bosses and various respected technical chiefs in its ill-fated attempts to repeat the glory days.
