Race stewards have opted to take no further action after Kevin Magnussen was accused of impeding Daniil Kvyat.
The Dane was summoned by the Silverstone stewards, who include Nigel Mansell, after Daniil Kvyat and Toro Rosso had accused him of impeding the Russian during his final flying lap in Q2.
Both men were summoned by the stewards who, having spoken to them and their respective team representatives, and video evidence, deemed no further action was warranted.
Relating to the allegation of Magnussen impeding Kvyat in Turns 15 and 16, they deemed that "both drivers concerned were on their final fast qualifying lap. Although Kvyat was the faster car he was considerably behind Magnussen until both drivers were fully committed to Turn 15 (Stowe).
"Due to very poor grip, Magnussen was considerably slower than normal through the corner, but within the corner there was no reasonable opportunity to let Kvyat through and although Magnussen moved to give space at the exit of Turn 15, Kvyat had already slowed to a similar speed.
"The stewards therefore accepted that under the circumstances, Magnussen did not unnecessarily impede as described by Art. 31.6 of the Sporting regulations."
Kvyat ended up qualifying 15th and Magnussen 16th.
"How frustrating!" said the Russian, "I was held up by Magnussen from Turn 13 onwards during my lap in Q2, so my qualifying was unfortunately compromised… It would’ve been interesting to see what my lap would’ve looked like without this happening, but we were just stuck behind him.
"To start from P15 is disappointing and not what we were expecting," he continued, "but the pace of the car isn’t bad so hopefully we can do a good race tomorrow."
