Though likely to remain with Force India, Sergio Perez admits that speculation linking him with Ferrari is inevitable.
With two podiums from three races, and totally out-shining his illustrious teammate, Nico Hulkenberg, Perez is widely considered one of the sport's hot properties.
Though linked with a number of teams the Mexican looks set to remain with Force India, the 26-year-old currently in his third season with the Silverstone-based outfit.
With ongoing speculation as to whether Kimi Raikkonen will be retained by Ferrari, attention turns to drivers sure to be on the Italian team's 'watch list', and Perez isn't surprised to hear his name mentioned in the same breath.
"Always when you do well in a race in Formula One, you are straight away linked to Ferrari," he told reporters in Austria. "It's the biggest team in Formula One so if you are linked to Ferrari it means you are doing well.
"In Formula One, you cannot rule out anything," he added. "I've learned from that in the past. You never know what will happen in the future. So we'll see how things develop."
Asked whether the Italian team had been in touch he was adamant: "No, just rumours."
However, the Mexican has form in such matters having previously denied speculation linking him with McLaren, right up to the point where he signed for the Woking team.
"I have been in this position before, in 2012, and the last thing I want is to distract myself," he said, aware that the speculation will be unsettling for Force India also.
