Red Bull has opted to give Max Verstappen a new chassis for today's race, meaning he will start from the pitlane.
The Dutchman's original chassis was damaged in the incident during Q1 when he crashed into the barriers after damaging his suspension when clipping the wall earlier in the Swimming Pool sequence.
The change of chassis means thyat the youngster will start from the pitlane however, the decision masy well prove fortuitous.
Like several of his rivals, Verstappen was hoping for rain for today's race, telioing reporters "it would be nice".
"We have a great car, so the pace is really good," he said. "Hopefully we have a good stint in the beginning and at the end. Definitely we can get past some cars for sure. After the top guys and the Ferraris there is a big pace difference so hopefully we can take advantage of that.
"Apparently there is rain expected," he concluded, "that would be nice."
No doubt the youngster was absolutely delighted when he awoke this morning and looked out of his window... to see rain falling on the Principality.
