French youngster Esteban Ocon is to drive the Mercedes at next week's test at Barcelona.
Though part of the Mercedes junior programme since early 2015, Esteban Ocon has yet to make an appearance for the Silver Arrows F1 team.
Instead, having made his F1 debut at the 2014 Abu Dhabi post-season test with Lotus, and subsequently tested with Ferrari and Force India also, the 2015 GP3 champion has been loaned to Renault as third and reserve driver.
Currently driving for Mercedes in DTM, Ocon will drive the Renault RS16 in FP1 on Friday and continue with the French team next Tuesday, the opening day of the Barcelona test.
However, on Wednesday he will make his much anticipated debut with the Silver Arrows when he takes over the F1 W07 from Nico Rosberg.
The test will also see Alex Lynn at the wheel of the Williams on Tuesday, Alfonso Celis on duty for Force India and Bahrain point scorer Stoffel Vandoorne at the wheel of the McLaren.
