In some ways it was a case of, 'there's good news and there's bad news', at a forum for BRDC members at Silverstone yesterday.
On the one hand members were informed that a potential £20m deal that would see the Stowe end of the circuit leased to Jaguar Land Rover, though not yet concluded, is progressing, though some members are still at a loss as to what the car maker will actually get from the deal.
On the other hand, members were advised that the current deal which sees the circuit pay its Grand Prix hosting fee to FOM a year after the race, has now been revised and that payment has to be within one month.
As members take on board the possible implication of the change to the GP deal, an Extraordinary General Meeting will be scheduled in order that a vote can be taken on the Jaguar Land Rover proposal.
