While the top of the timesheets looked a little different to Monday and Tuesday's version, with Nico hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen setting the pace, Nico rosberg and quietly got on with doing what Mercedes does best, completing lap asfter lap after lap.
In a late change, the German team opted to put Rosberg in the car instead og teammate Lewis Hamilton, the Briton taking over tomorrow before splitting duties again tomorrow. The move, according to the tram, is to keep the drivers "fresh".
The morning saw two red flags, the first when Carlos Sainz ground to a halt at the end of the pitlane, and the second when Rio Haryanto went off in to the gravel at T5.
With a number of drivers making their 2016 debuts it looked like being a busy morning, but in fact a number spent long periods in their garages inm between runs.
Having set the pace on the first two days of the test it was back to earth with a bump for Ferrari, Kimi Raikkonen spending the morning as a fuel supply system issue was resolved. The Finn finally completed a couple of laps just before the break.
Hopefully the pace will improve this afternoon as the drivers switch to softer rubber, whilst Hamilton will get to try a new nose Mercedes want to run.
