Daniel Ricciardo has opted to revert to the older spec Renault engine for this weekend's season finale.
Despite the much anticipated new unit being available several races ago, Red Bull opted not to introduce it until Brazil, feeling that the resultant grid penalty would be less damaging there.
Unfortunately, the new unit proved to be something of a damp squib, for whilst arguably more reliable it proved less powerful with teammate Daniil Kvyat - who stuck with the old unit - consistently faster than the Australian.
Consequently, for this weekend's finale in Abu Dhabi - with Red Bull yet to announce an engine supply for 2016 - Ricciardo will revert to the old spec engine.
Furthermore, as he will be using a previously used unit there will be no penalty.
