Four men who broke into the Red Bull F1 team HQ have been jailed.
The four drove a vehicle through the front doors of Red Bull team HQ last December, helping themselves to 60 trophies, but not the F1 title trophies which were elsewhere at the time.
Over a week after the break-in, around twenty of the trophies were found in a lake in Sandhurst in Surrey, many significantly damaged.
As well as the Red Bull break-in, the gang carried out around forty other burglaries in the south of England in a spree that lasted from November 2014 to April this year, including the theft of ATMs at a shopping centre in Surrey and Mercedes Benz World.
Handing the four sentences of between two years and seven years, Judge Christopher Critchlow said: "This was serious organised crime that reflected a deliberate, organised, professional conspiracy to burgle and steal."
Reports that Red Bull attempted to recruit the gang for a job at an engine production plant in Brixworth have been vehemently denied.
