Jolyon Palmer will compete in the FP1 sessions at each of the next five Grands Prix, beginning with Austria. The Briton will also drive on one day of the post-Grand Prix in-season test at the Red Bull Ring on 23/24 June.
The Lotus third and reserve driver will then drive the E23 at his home Grand Prix when the F1 circus visits Silverstone in July. He will also participate in the opening practice sessions of the Grand Prix weekends in Hungary, Belgium and Italy.
The 24-year-old has shown impressive pace in each of his three FP1 sessions so far this season, making his Grand Prix weekend debut in China, before also driving in the FP1 sessions in Bahrain and Spain. He then went on to top the time-sheets on the second day of the official in-season test in Barcelona last month.
"I'm really pleased to be driving in FP1 for the rest of the European season," said Palmer. "I've been happy with my performances so far and the car is improving all the time so, after watching on at the last two events, it will be great to be driving again."
