Lewis Hamilton has dismissed Red Bull's call for engine equalisation as "funny".
In the wake of a disappointing season opener, which left the Austrian team looking doubtful for a podium finish the season, far less a number of wins as in 2014, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner called on the FIA to invoke an equalisation regulation and thereby level the playing field.
Widely dismissed by fans and even rivals as sour grapes, today the world champion mocked the Austrian team's request.
"I genuinely find it quite funny," he told reporters in Sepang. "It's an interesting opinion coming from individuals who had so much success. To already have commented after one race I find quite funny.
"Not once did this team ever complain to others to equalise things," he continued. "Now we are the best team, we pulled together and did an amazing job and I'm really very proud of that."
