Formula E star Franck Montagny fears his racing career is over following positive drug test.
The Frenchman, who contested seven Grand Prix with Super Aguri, having spent time at Renault and Jordan as a test and reserve driver, had tweeted that his absence from the recent Formula E event in Punta Del Este in Uruguay was due to "health reasons".
However, it has been revealed that in fact the 36-year-old had tested positive for a cocaine derivative at the previous event in Malaysia.
"Auto sport is maybe over for me," he told L'Equipe.
"I knew, in my head, immediately. I knew it was over," he added, revealing that he has not contested the result of the test. "I got on the plane... then I called my parents, to explain. I was ashamed. I made a stupid mistake, I am guilty."
The FIA has yet to announce his punishment however it is widely speculated that, as he was contesting a series with such a clean public image, it is likely to be severe.
