Another departure from Maranello as tyre guru Hirohide Hamashima follows Pat Fry and Nikolas Tombazis.
Just twenty-four hours after the Italian team announced that James Allison has been appointed Technical Director, replacing Fry, and that Simone Resta replaces Tombazis as Chief Designer, a brief statement reveals that Hamashima, currently responsible for tyre performance analysis, will leave at the end of the year.
Hashamima joined Ferrari in 2012 from Bridgestone, where he was Head of Motorsport Tyre Development, the Maranello outfit hoping that the expertise which helped the team to numerous titles with Michael Schumacher on the Japanese rubber, might help as the teams got used to the new Pirelli tyres, the Italian manufacturer having returned to the sport a year earlier.
