Stewards in Abu Dhabi have ruled that the Red Bulls did not comply with the regulations and must start from the back of the grid.
Following their investigation, and having spoken to Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey and Team Manager Jonathan Wheatley, Stewards in Abu Dhabi have ruled that the cars of Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo did not comply with Article 3.15 (Aerodynamic influence), in that they flex, a breach of Article 3.15 of the FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.
Consequently, both drivers are excluded from today’s qualifying results but are allowed to start tomorrow's race - Vettel's last with the Austrian outfit - from the back of the grid.
Reacting to the news, Red Bull said: "Following the decision of the Stewards regarding the front wings on both our cars, we are disappointed that we have been singled out for a front wing deflection test when it is clear that other teams are interpreting the rules in a similar fashion.
"The team accepts the decision of the Stewards and will start the race from the back of the grid."
