McLaren has revealed that the much anticipated new Honda engine will make its track debut at Silverstone tomorrow.
In a brief tweet on Thursday morning, the team revealed: "Getting set for Silverstone tomorrow for a filming day. We'll be parading the interim Honda-engined MP4-29H/1X1 & 2 classic McLaren-Hondas."
Under the current rules, teams are allowed a 'filming day' during which they are able to run their current car (2014) for up to 100km.
The test run will finally see the return of one of the most dominant partnerships in motorsport history, which between 1988 and 1992 saw McLaren-Honda win eight world championships, 44 grands prix, 53 pole positions and 30 fastest laps... all in just 80 outings.
As the team dithers over its 2015 driver line-up, Stoffel Vandoorne and Oliver Turvey will drive the various machines on parade at Silverstone.
It is understood the Woking outfit will also run the Honda-powered car in the forthcoming Abu Dhabi test.
