Fresh from his drive to seventh in Austria, Kevin Magnussen visited McLaren's Woking HQ this morning where he spoke to the assembled team.
Having qualified sixth, his best performance since the season opener in Melbourne, the Dane looked set to maintain that position in the race until losing out to Sergio Perez who was on fresher rubber.
Nonetheless, in the wake of the lean streak that followed that podium result in Melbourne, Sunday's result was clearly a fillip for Magnussen and the team.
As the Woking outfit looks ahead to its home race at Silverstone, Magnussen visited the factory to thank the assembled staff for their efforts thus far this season.
Introduced by team boss Eric Boullier, Magnussen told his fellow McLaren team members: "Even though we're not winning yet, driving for McLaren remains my dream come true.
"Thank you, all of you, for giving me such a warm welcome this year," he continued. "I promise all of you that I'll work as hard as I can, just like you all are, to get us back to the front."
Our sources claim the Dane received a "prolonged standing ovation" from the assembled staff.
