McLaren has confirmed that it has successfully passed all of the FIA's mandatory crash tests.
In recent days, ahead of the Woking outfit's unveiling of its 2014 contender, the first of the new challengers to break cover, there has been speculation as to whether McLaren had passed the tests.
Previously, cars that hadn't passed the tests could still take part in pre-season testing but all that changed in 2012, now the teams have to have been signed off by the FIA before they can turn a wheel.
Today, shortly after Pitpass published its exclusive interview with the team's Managing Director, Jonathan Neale, in which he confirmed that all the tests had been passed successfully, the Woking outfit took to Twitter to confirm the news.
"Confirmed: MP4-29 has passed all its FIA crash tests," read the tweet.
The Woking challenger, which as Neale has confirmed to Pitpass, will not have a title sponsor at the launch, is to be unveiled online on Friday.
