Sauber has revealed that its 2014 chassis has passed the first of its mandatory crash tests.
"The chassis of the C33 has passed all static and dynamic tests of the FIA and is officially homologated," the Swiss team tweeted this morning. "The rear crash test, which is not part of the chassis homologation, will take place separately at a later date, as usual."
Rival teams are due to complete their tests in the next few weeks ahead of January's launches and the first pre-season test, scheduled to take place at Jerez from January 28th.
It's understood the 2014 Caterham passed its initial tests over the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend.
