His F1 future still far from settled, Paul di Resta has admitted that he is now considering other options including a move to Indy Car.
It wasn't that long ago that the Scot was being linked with the likes of Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren. However, an unconvincing season, not helped by a streak of seven races in which he failed to score a single point, indeed, crashed out of four of them, has seen his 'F1 stock' take a pounding.
Unsure of whether he will retain his Force India seat, far less move up the grid, the 2010 DTM champion admits he is looking at all options.
"I built a good reputation in DTM, and there are other opportunities in a few other series," he is quoted as saying by the Guardian.
Asked about the possibility of a move to Indy Car, a move which could be 'eased' by his cousin, Dario Franchitti, the four-time champion of the series who announced his retirement last week following a heavy crash in Houston, the Scot admitted: "I've always been slightly concerned about the safety of it, but sitting down and looking at it logically, it's a serious option to look elsewhere because of the success he (Franchitti) has had."
Talking about retaining his seat with Force India, the team which brought him into F1, and of which, earlier this season, he was often highly critical, he said: "They know what I'm capable of here, they know what I can deliver.
"I feel like I'm an asset to the team, but I can't make the decision for them, and I have to respect their decision. I've said all along I'd love to be part of it.
"Things are getting tighter in the midfield to get seats, so I have to be content with what I've done, and I believe over the last four races I've done what's been asked of me. I don't know what will happen. I've got to wait and see. We're speaking, and that's all you can do. All is not confirmed yet."
