Russian drivers Sergey Sirotkin and Vitaly Petrov are to take part in an F1 demonstration run at the Olympic Park in Sochi later this month.
The demo run will be held on part of the Formula 1 circuit at the Olympic Park during the XII International Investment Forum 'Sochi-2013' on September 27.
A brief press release claims that the 'Formula Sochi 2013' show will be "one of the most exciting and emotional motorsport events of this year in the country".
Interestingly, it claims that Russian drivers "which are going to participate in Formula 1 Grand Prix", Sergey Sirotkin and Vitaly Petrov, will be the special guests.
Whether this is a poor translation or there really are plans for Petrov to return to F1 remain to be seen however, the official partner of the event is 'Lukoil', of which Sirotkin is a member of the company's Driver Support Programme.
Sauber and Marussia together with teams from the Formula-Z and Formula-Russia series will take part in the demo run which is intended to add to the anticipation ahead of the country's maiden Grand Prix scheduled for October 2014.
The organizers and participants of the event will subsequently answer questions concerning the preparation and organization of the Grand Prix at a press conference in the congress hall of 'Bolshoy' Ice Dome where two F1 show cars and 3D model of the Sochi track will be on display.
