Organisers of the Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit have hit out at claims the race will not be held in 2014.
Following a strong turnout for the inaugural race in 2011, attendance was down in 2012, and with no Indian drivers on the grid for 2013 it is expected the downward trend will continue this year.
However, organisers Jaypee Sports International were quick to dismiss media speculation that Formula One is doomed to failure in the Cricket mad country and that this year's Grand Prix will be the last.
"Our agreement with Formula One Management is to hold F1 races at Buddh International Circuit (BIC) until 2015, said Askari Zaidi, a spokesman for Jaypee, "and we are fully committed to do that. There is no reason for us to give up hosting F1 races."
