In a brief statement issued ahead of The Canadian GP weekend, Mercedes said it welcomes the forthcoming FIA tribunal following its test with Pirelli at Barcelona.
On Wednesday evening, whilst dismissing that there was a case against Ferrari, which also tested with Pirelli, albeit with a 2011 car, the FIA revealed that Mercedes and Pirelli had been summoned by its International Tribunal. as it is believed the test may have constituted "a breach of the applicable FIA rules".
In its response, Mercedes insists that it is looking forward to the opportunity to present its side of the case.
"Mercedes-Benz acknowledges the decision of the FIA to take the matter of the Pirelli Test before the International Tribunal," read the statement. "We welcome the opportunity to explain the full facts of the Pirelli Test in an open and transparent manner at the International Tribunal.
"Sporting integrity is of primary importance to Mercedes-Benz and we have the utmost confidence in the due process of the FIA."
A date for the tribunal has yet to be set.
