Christian Horner has distanced himself from suggestions Red Bull could have signed Lewis Hamilton.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Hamilton had attempted to engineer a move to Red Bull, enlisting the help of Bernie Ecclestone.
"Bernie has his finger in most things and it's his road show at the end of the day," Christian Horner told Sky Sports F1. "A lot of drivers talk to Bernie and ask his advice and ask his help.
Speculation early in 2012 linked Mark Webber with a move from Red Bull to Ferrari in place of the then-struggling Felipe Massa. However shortly after winning the British Grand Prix it was announced that the Australian would remain at Milton Keynes for another season.
"We were quite clear that we were keen to continue with our existing driver pairing," Horner said. "I think the balance and dynamics that we have in the team are absolutely right with the two drivers that we have, and that's what we chose to stick with."
"It's been a very successful pairing. We've won three consecutive constructors' championships with that pairing. It didn't make any sense to change that."
