NEWS STORY
In a late move, Lotus reserve driver Davide Valsecchi is replacing Kimi Raikkonen at Barcelona today, the Finn apparently feeling unwell.
At present the exact nature of the Finn's illness isn't known, though paddock speculation suggests food poisoning, however he is hoping to be back in the car tomorrow for the all-important final day of pre-season testing.
Romain Grosjean, who yesterday admitted his frustration at not having more time in the car in optimum (read - dry) conditions had already headed home, hence the decision to call up Valsecchi.
Eager to stop the rumour mongers in their tracks - Kimi has history, including at F1 tests - Lotus was quick to deny claims that the Iceman had been out "partying with HRH Queen Elizabeth II", who has cancelled a trip to Wales today after suffering a stomach bug.
One source claims that as he bent over a toilet bowl to retch, the Finn was heard to refuse the offer of a mechanic's finger down the back of his throat, shouting; "leave me alone, I know what I'm doing!"
