Frank Sinatra might have had regrets but not Lewis Hamilton, certainly not in terms of his move to Mercedes next season.
Speaking recently, asked if he thought Hamilton might have regretted his decision to leave McLaren, to many his ancestral home, for Mercedes, Martin Whitmarsh said: "I think he has on occasions, yes.
"Probably, when you make a decision you have to tell yourself that the decision is made so you have to look forward," he added. "You say okay, that it is in the past so you don't spend too much time thinking about why. You just look forward and make the best out of the new situation."
However, speaking in Austin today, ahead of Sunday's United States Grand Prix, Hamilton dismissed Whitmarsh's claim, insisting that nothing could be further from the truth.
"I was a little surprised to hear that, it's absolutely not the case," he told reporters. "I've got a great team, I've been with them such a long time so I'm sure everyone has some emotions within the team but I'm still here giving 100 percent for the last two races and of course it's quite emotional for me. But I'm very, very happy with the decision I have made."
