Mark Webber didn't hold back when talking about the incident which effectively destroyed his Japanese Grand Prix at the very first corner.
The Australian, who was starting from the front row, was hit from behind by Romain Grosjean, the Frenchman concentrating on Sergio Perez who was coming up on his left hand side. Though the Lotus driver subsequently served a stop and go penalty, as opposed to the usual (lesser) drive-through, Webber is leading the call for action to be taken against the GP2 champion.
"I haven't seen what happened at the start but the guys confirmed it was the first-lap nutcase again Grosjean," the Australian told Sky Sport F1 in the moments after the race. "The rest of us are trying to fight for some decent results each weekend but he's trying to get to the third corner as fast as he can at every race.
"It makes it frustrating because a few big guys obviously suffered from that today," he added, referring to Alonso who was actually involved in a separate incident. "Maybe he needs another holiday.
"He needs to have a look at himself obviously," he continued. "It was completely his fault. How many mistakes can you make, how many times can you make the same error with first lap incidents? It's quite embarrassing at this level for him."
Apart from the frustration of see his team miss out on a possible 1-2, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner wondered how long Lotus could allow the Frenchman to keep losing it points.
"He's hosing away points for his team," he said. "They're fighting in the Constructors' Championship. I would be surprised if they were impressed by that. Seven incidents this year is more than enough and Mark was the victim of the action today and it cost him for sure at least a podium.
