The Daily Telegraph claims that ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix, Paul di Resta has parted company with his manager Anthony Hamilton, father of Lewis Hamilton.
According to the report, the split happened "some weeks ago" and follows a "falling out" between the two.
"It is believed that the break-up, which happened some weeks ago, was not planned and the situation between the pair remains delicate," writes Tom Cary, "which may lead to some awkward questions for di Resta ahead of his home grand prix this weekend."
While neither party has commented on the report, internet speculation suggests that the rift could be linked with the future of the 2008 world champion. Should Lewis leave McLaren, di Resta could well be on McLaren's wish list, though the two could be also be under consideration at a number of other teams including Mercedes.
Despite coming to F1 relatively late, di Resta, a former DTM champ, has impressed in F1, giving a good account of himself when teamed with Adrian Sutil and regularly out-performing Nico Hulkenberg this season.
