Former Prost driver Tomas Enge has been suspended from competition after failing a drug test.
A class winner at Le Mans, Enge had been racing for Lamborghini in the GT1 World Championship. It's believed he returned a positive test at last month's round in Navarra, Spain.
Enge previously endured a drugs ban in 2002 after testing positive for cannabis. At the time he was second in the F3000 world championship, driving for Christian Horner's Arden team having competed in three Grands Prix for Prost.
The positive result caught the 35-year-old by surprise, describing the finding as a "shock".
"After what happened in 2002 I've been paranoid, careful in every way of anything relating to doping," he wrote on Facebook. "I received a message that the anti-doping test, after the Spanish race in GT1 (on May 27), got a positive result for the presence of banned substances.
"I suffer long-term health problems," he continued. "I recently asked the FIA for an exemption so that I can take medicines that are on the list of banned substances.
"Now I will consult with experts as to how this situation could occur."
