Bernie Ecclestone has hinted that the proposed Grand Prix of America, due be held in New Jersey next season, could be delayed until 2014.
"Maybe the New York race will be 2013," he told BBC Sport. "It's a when - 2013 or 2014."
With Austin due to host its first race in November, after years of being ignore by the sport American F1 fans were salivating at the prospect of having two rounds of the world championship from next season. However, there are serious concerns at to whether the street track in New Jersey will be ready in time.
Asked about the arrangement which could see Spa Francorchamps and Le Castellet host the Belgian and French Grands Prix on an alternating basis, from as early as next year, the F1 supremo added: "We don't want any more races. They're quite close and they're French-speaking. Spa have agreed; apparently they're going to do it in Ricard."
As well as being the promoter of the Belgian event, Ecclestone owns the Le Castellet track... so, trebles all round.
