Journalists David Tremayne and Joe Saward have joined the board of Caterham Cars Group Limited, the company which owns the Caterham Formula One team. Records from Companies House indicate the pair were appointed as directors on 30 November 2011.
Tremayne has reported on Formula One for more than two decades, contributing to newspapers, magazines and online publications. He's also authored a number of books and has been heavily involved in writing about the land and water speed records.
Similarly Saward has almost 25 years experience in Formula One, and has written extensively about the business as well as the Second World War - his book Grand Prix Saboteurs was labelled "a cracking good read" by Pitpass' own Dr Mike Lawrence.
With nearly 50 years experience between them, Tony Fernandes has added a fresh perspective to Caterham's board. The only question that remains however, is whether the pair are able to separate their roles as directors and journalists sufficiently to silence claims the appointment could be considered a conflict of interest.
