With the start of the new season just over a week away, the only official timing and track positioning app for iPhone, Android and Blackberry contains an ever increasing list of features.
This year, the only official App available to fans is better than ever. It's still the only way to see all the cars visually represented on track at the same time, but new features will also include the addition of tyre information to the App so that users can see, both visually on the track map and via the Live Leaderboards, what tyre type and compound each driver is on at any given time.
DRS Zones have also been added to the App this year, with the zone marked on the track maps and an additional indication of whether a driver is benefiting from DRS whilst in that zone also included. Both the addition of tyre information and the DRS zones use simple colour coding on the maps as indicators so that users do not have to flick between screens to access information. Both these new features promise to make the App an even more comprehensive tool for the user, with an unprecedented level of information available at a glance.
All the official App's features and design elements mean that it is ideal both to complement the TV viewing experience and to keep those not viewing the race live up-to-date with what is happening as it happens in the most comprehensive way possible. It is more than just a timing screen, it provides access to the all the minutiae of a race weekend, from free practice on a Friday to the live race on a Sunday afternoon.
The App provides over 130 hours of racing action, brought direct from the track to the handheld in less than two seconds. Live Pause allows users to quickly replay action as soon as it happens, while a vast database of information on the whole season can be accessed at any time and in perpetuity.
The 3D track maps are easy to navigate and a host of small design improvements mean the whole user experience is better than ever. As ever, the App runs on GPRS and can be viewed anywhere, meaning fans need never miss any action.
With exclusive live timing screens, live text commentary in English, French and German, classifications and race schedule information, the official F1Timing and Track Positioning App is a must have for any fan, all for £19.99; less than £1 a race!
