Almost a year after his near fatal rally accident, Robert Kubica is back in hospital after falling on ice in the street close to his home.
It's understood the Pole was walking in his garden in Pietrasanta, Italy, when he slipped and fell. He was subsequently sent to the Versillia hospital in nearby Viareggio where he underwent x-rays on his right leg.
While his manager, Daniele Morelli, has not yet commented, it is believed that following his examination, Kubica requested that he be taken to the hospital in Pietra Ligure where he was treated after last year's crash.
It was subsequently confirmed that the former Renault driver, who is currently out of contract, had broken his right tibia in the exactly the same spot as last year necessitating an operation in which a metal screw is inserted above his ankle followed by another month in plaster.
