1992 world champion Nigel Mansell and design legend Adrian Newey have both been recognised in the New Year honours list.
Mansell, who was previously recognised for his sporting achievements with an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), has now been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), in recognition for his work with children and young people, the Englishman being president of the charity UK Youth.
Newey, who has won world championship titles with Williams, McLaren and Red Bull, is made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), in recognition of services to motorsport. Indeed, Newey was the designer of Mansell's 1992 championship winning Williams.
Congratulations to both of them.
