CVC Capital Partners have issued a one line statement insisting that they are not looking to replace Bernie Ecclestone.
The statement reads:
"Contrary to recent media speculation, CVC is not seeking a replacement for Bernie Ecclestone and intends to retain him as Chief Executive of F1."
It is not currently clear exactly what "media speculation" the statement refers to however, the F1 supremo has been consistently in the headlines in recent weeks what with the Gerhard Gribkowsky case and its fallout, which includes the possibility of an investigation of Ecclestone's tax records by the Serious Fraud Office.
