The FIA has confirmed that at this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, drivers will be able to activate their DRS on the main straight.
Once again, there is just one DRS zone, even though some might think that like Spa and Monza, Suzuka could support two, especially on the long back straight leading from the Spoon Curve.
Anyway, in their infinite wisdom, the FIA has ruled that the detection zone will begin shortly after Turn 15, the notorious 130R, with the activation zone shortly after Turn 18, which leads on to the main pit straight.
Of the circuit's 18 corners, 11 are taken at 125 mph or higher - including four at over 155 mph. Also, in the last ten years, 75% of races at Suzuka have been won from pole - a higher percentage than in Monaco (70%).
There are no significant changes to the circuit this year, while the drivers' representative on the stewards panel is 1980 Formula One World Champion, Alan Jones
