F1 Rocks, the series of live music events staged alongside Formula One races, have announced that American heavy metal band Metallica are confirmed to headline' F1 Rocks in India on Friday October 28th.
On a weekend of firsts, the band's appearance marks Metallica's first ever live show on the Indian continent and the first ever F1 Rocks in India, all set against the backdrop of the first ever Indian Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend at the Buddh International Circuit.
Multi-award winning American band Metallica - which has recently controversially collaborated with rock legend Lou Reed for an album (Lulu) - was formed by guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich in 1981, and is the 7th biggest selling act in American history having received no less than 21 prestigious international awards, amongst them 9 Grammy's. The band, which has released a total of 9 studio albums among them the highly successful 'Master of Puppets' which paved their way to international stardom.
Ahead of their first live appearance in India, Metallica declared: "We are so excited to be playing a show in a place we never thought in our wildest dreams we'd get to play. It's an honour for all of us that we get to be a part of that whole music scene as a metal band sharing our music with fans in India at this incredible concert!"
