Putting aside the Heidfeld/Senna saga, talking to reporters in Spa yesterday, Boullier revealed that the much missed Kubica will undergo one more operation in the coming days.
"Robert has another surgery to go through so we have to wait now until he's fully recovered," said the Frenchman, when asked how the popular Pole is progressing. "I know this is the last one and then he will be starting, finally, the full rehabilitation."
While Kubica continues with the long process of rehabilitation, there is mixed opinion as to when we might next see him in action. While his manager, Daniele Morelli, has said he could return to the cockpit of the Renault this year - if only for a practice session - Boullier isn't so sure.
"To be honest I don't know. I don't believe so," he said. "He's recovering well but the last operation will be another pain to go through and he will also have to go through the full rehabilitation and the driving one. Not only will he be ready physically, he still needs to get back his feeling of the car."
Regardless of Kubica's determination to return to work, the ban on in-season testing means he would need to focus on simulator work, though Boullier says this would be easy to arrange.
As far as the rest of us are concerned, we just want to see the Pole back racing when he's fully fit and ready... we can wait a bit longer.
