The FIA has written to all the teams this afternoon confirming that drivers may not use DRS in Eau Rouge at any point during the Belgian GP weekend.
Having listened to concerns raised over the safety aspects of the use of DRS in what is widely regarded as one of the most demanding corners on the calendar, the FIA wrote to all teams confirming the ban.
Other than the obvious danger posed by running through the high speed left-right-left combination, which sees drivers subjected to as much as 5G, there is concern that some drivers have admitted to not knowing when their DRS was still open, a recipe for almost certain disaster in such a corner.
The sport's governing body also confirmed that there will be just one DRS activation area this weekend, running from Raidillon to the Les Combes chicane.
