Sergio Perez has been given the all-clear to take part in this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, two weeks after his horrendous crash in Monaco.
The Mexican youngster crashed heavily at the Nouvelle Chicane in qualifying, just hours after Nico Rosberg was lucky to avoid hitting the same barrier. Kept in hospital for two nights in order that he could undergo various tests, the Sauber driver had to be given the approval of the FIA's doctor before he could participate in this weekend's event.
In a brief statement, the FIA's head of communications Matteo Bonciani, announced: "Following examination by the FIA Medical Delegate Jean Charles Piette and the Medical Officers of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Sauber F1 Team driver Sergio Perez has been found fit to race at this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix."
